- Biography:
- As a twenty-three year-old University of British Columbia political science student, Audain was arrested in the Jackson, Mississippi Greyhound terminal on June 7, 1961 for entering an African American restroom and was sent to Parchman Prison Farm. "Michael Audain, a member of the Order of British Columbia, is Chairman of Polygon Homes Ltd., one of British Columbia's leading home builders. Mr. Audain is also Chair of the Vancouver Art Gallery Foundation, the Audain Foundation for the Visual Arts in British Columbia, and the British Columbia Arts Renaissance Fund. He is also a trustee of the National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and a director of the Business Council of British Columbia, and Business for the Arts. He has received the Edmund C. Bovey Award for leadership in the arts, the B.C.
