- Biography:
- African American participant in an effort to desegregate the Jackson, Mississippi Trailways terminal on June 23, 1961, Armstrong, a native of Silver Creek, Mississippi was affiliated with CORE, SNCC, and the NAACP in 1961. He graduated from Tougaloo College with a B.A. in biology in 1964. He also helped with voter registration efforts in Mississippi in the mid-1960s.
