Description:
Educational Media Collection spans from 1963 to 1966 depicting different activities at the University of Alabama including homecoming activities, basketball and football games, beauty pageants, fraternity and sorority activities, coach Hank Crisp, coach Paul Bryant, president Rose on President's Day 1964, demonstrations against Wallace, 1966 Robert F. Kennedy's visit, Lady Bird Johnson at the University, Lurleen Wallace at the University for Governors Day, and department faculty members.

Description:
John James Herrera (1910-1986), a lawyer and leading civil rights advocate for Mexican Americans, played a role in key cases that ultimately established that separate schools for Mexican American children were illegal and that the systematic exclusion of Spanish-speaking citizens from service on juries was unconstitutional.
