Description
Web site presenting the history of Auburn Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia, which was home to more financial institutions, professionals, educators, entertainers, and politicians than any other street in the South before the Civil Rights movement. The site documents racial intolerance as well as events, organizations, and people significant in the history of Auburn Avenue through maps, images, and text. It requires Flash 6.0 and Shockwave 8.5 plug-ins., The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
