- Seven page monthly report prepared by Isaiah DeQuincey Newman, field secretary of the South Carolina Conference of Branches, NAACP, dated June 10- July 8, 1964. The report begins with a summary of speaking engagements, news releases, television interviews, travel, and correspondence; this is followed by an annotated schedule itemizing work and meetings conducted on behalf of the organization throughout the time period of the report. Highlights of the report include statewide updates on civil rights issues such as the memorialization of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers, police brutality, voter registration, implementation of the public accommodations section of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and supervision of the volunteer state youth conference task force.
