This project integrates Art and Social Studies. First, in Social Studies class, the stuents will be placed into small groups (3-5) and choose, or be given, the name of a prominent figure on whom to base their portrait. The students will research details about the role of the person and any interesting historical information that made the person important. Each group will record this and bring it to Art Class to sketch, as a team, the portrait of their person.
