Dated years of use are from 1968-1970. McCain travelled extensively starting in 1968. He spoke at an Arkansas Teachers Assocation meeting and spent some time in Pennsylvania and New York for Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) staff meetings. Some days he took notes down to the hour. McCain used this agenda to create the 1968-1970 projected program in political education in South Carolina for the next two years, which he noted on the cover as well. Also noted on the cover is his use of the notebook for election day procedures. In March, 1969 McCain starts to use the notebook as a monthly journal.
