- SCAR T-10: Rev. I. DeQuincey Newman Col, Sound, 29 minutes. Reverend I. DeQuincey Newman is interviewed by Dr. Grace Jordan McFadden of the University of S. C. Newman describes his childhood experiences including witnessing the burning alive of a negro convict by the Ku Klux Klan. He speaks on his early involvement with the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) at "Clark College." He speaks on the impact local clergy had on movement in S. C. That the success of the movement in S. C. in avoiding major incidents of violence was due in part to "home grown" leadership. He talks about some milestones in the S. C. struggle.
