- Description:
- In these two November 5, 1979, articles from the Greensboro Daily News, staff writer Mae Israel reports on reactions within the black community to the November 3, 1979, shootings in Greensboro in which five members of the Communist Workers Party (CWP) were killed at an anti-Klan rally. Israel interviews community members who are angry about the lack of police presence and the fact that their neighborhood was "used" for the incident, and also reports on reaction within New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where Reverend Frank Williams called for revival rather than revolution.
