- In this November 4, 1979, article from the Greensboro Daily News, staff writer Steve Berry profiles Communist Workers Party (CWP) leader Nelson Johnson follwing the November 3, 1979, Death to the Klan rally, at which five members if the CWP were shot to death and several wounded. Berry notes that Johnson had been involved in the race riots at Dudley High School ten years earlier and had become a communist in 1976. He had also been involved in several other community organizations, including Greensboro's Malcolm X University.
