- This October 15, 1954 article in the Guilford College student newspaper, The Guilfordian, chronicles a Guilford College student Suc Kyun Suh ("Su"), and reflects the college's reputation as a welcoming place for international students. Su had been an engineering student in Korea before war broke out and then he joined the South Korean Army, eventually rising to the rank of captain. Through family connections Su learned of Guilford and decided to continue his undergraduate studies at the college.
