- Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President Joseph E. Lowery is shown speaking a press conference to announce SCLC's march and rally to protest the South African invasion of Angola. Written on verso: South Africa -- At a press conference announcing a march and rally protesting the South African invasion of Angola and the U.S. veto of a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the invasion, SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery (at microphone), tells the members of the press on behalf of the "Coalition of Black Leaders" that "the armed invasion...is a threat to world peace and the veto...is an affront to all citizens who are committed to peace with justice."
