Description:: This audio recording features a church service at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The service proceedings include songs, the prayer of confession, the act of praise, a scripture lesson, and a sermon delivered by Joseph E. Lowery (begins speaking at 00:50:56). Before his sermon, Lowery deliver general remarks to the Cascade community and then transitions into a story about Hagar, the handmaid of Sarah, Abraham's wife. The story of Hagar leads to Lowery sharing about his peace mission trip to Lebanon in 1979 and highlighting the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Lowery's sermon centers around the idea of "God's vision" and Hagar's comment that "Thou God seest me". The recording concludes with the singing of hymns.
