- Description:
- This audio recording features a church service at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The recording begins with Joseph E. Lowery leading the choir and congregation in singing gospel songs followed by scripture readings and prayers. At 00:31:38, Lowery previews plans for the Winn Dixie Boycott. At 00:40:36, Pastor Dr. William B. McClain gives the sermon "The Facts of Life" in which he states that the facts of life are that you are a sinner, you are growing old, you are going to reap what you sow, you are going to die, and you are going to have to stand before the judgment. The recording concludes with Lowery leading the choir in singing gospel songs and reminding the congregation that the fact of life is that God is always there.
