- White female civil rights worker featured in the Alabama Department of Public Safety's publication, Individuals active in civil disturbances. Chaffee had been a faculty member at Tougaloo and a CORE task force worker. In 1963, Chaffee was charged with perjury for her comments about police brutality during her own trial for disturbing the peace during June 13, 1963 peaceful protests in Jackson, Mississippi.
