These negroes who are seeking admission are obviously insincere, since they have stated openly it is their prime intention \"to worry the colleges and universities into repealing the segregation rulings.\" So now is the time to establish precedent -- instead of capitulating to their demands without even a test case, I propose that all negro applicants be denied on these grounds: If my history stands me in good stead, and I believe this is true, Congress had to approve each states constitution before is coved be ad- mitted to the Union. If Congress ever ratified our state constitution, which carries the segregation clause, then what legal justification does even the Supreme Court have to demand its nullification? This letter, Mr. Thomas, cannot nearly express the depth of my feelings on this issue, and I would exhort you to have the board rescind this dastardly decision it has made.
