- Letter from Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr. of Lake City, South Carolina to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in New York, New York, in defense of Reverend J. W. Seals of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church. DeLaine details Seals' assistance in reorganizing the Clarendon County, South Carolina NAACP branch and personal sacrifice for Clarendon County court cases. He also requests $300 for Seals to pay the local NAACP branch.
