- Description:
- Records collected between December 1971 and April 1973 by the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission on Charles Evers. The file consists of newspaper articles and internal memorandums tracking Evers and his political career. Several of the memorandums allege conflict between Charles Evers and Aaron Henry in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and in the Loyal Democratic Party. Other articles comment on Evers' administration as mayor of Fayette, Mississippi. The final article and memorandum announce plans for a celebration marking the tenth anniversary of Medgar Evers' assassination in 1963.
