Description:: In this interview, Ralph Luker discusses his involvement in civil rights protests and demonstrations in Raleigh, North Carolina while attending Duke University. During this period, Duke Divinity School revoked his admission due to his involvement in civil rights activities. Luker became involved in the movement in Georgia while teaching in Macon. He ends the interview by describing how he played an active role in the youth branches of the NAACP.
Ralph Luker was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky at the beginning of World War II. He attended Duke University in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Purdue Seminary.
