- Biography:
- Williams began her involvement in the civil rights movement as a student in Alabama. According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety's Individuals Active in Civil Disturbances, Williams was arrested in September of 1963 in Selma for unlawful assembly and was a member of SNCC and president of the youth council of the Montgomery Improvement Association. She was also a SCLC field secretary in Alabama.
