White, Lula Mae, 1938-

Biography:

Lula Mae White was a twenty-two year old teacher at James Ward School in Chicago, Illinois when she was arrested for her participation in the Freedom Rides. White was arrested in the Trailways terminal in Jackson, Mississippi on 9 July 1961 after she and seven others rode a bus from Montgomery, Alabama to Jackson, Mississippi.
