Sydney Roger was born in Paris, France on May 29, 1914. After moving to the United States in his youth, Roger attended University of California, Berkeley and went on to become a liberal radio commentator and an outspoken union advocate in San Francisco, California from the late 1930s through the early 1970s. He died in 1994 at the age of 80.
