- Biography:
- Bernice Robinson, niece of Septima Clark, was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on February 7, 1914 and was an active member of the Charleston Branch of the NAACP. She attended the Highlander Folk School in 1954 with Esau Jenkins. Beginning in 1956, Bernice Robinson was the first citizenship school teacher volunteer. Later, she became a Highlander Folk School staff member and a member of the school's board.
