Posey, Buford W.
Several days after the disappearance of Schwerner, Chaney, and Goodman, Posey, a Neshoba County, Mississippi white man who voiced pro-NAACP sentiments and was under Mississsippi State Sovereignty Commission surveillance, opined to NBC news that the local sheriff had been involved in the incident. He also reported his suspicions to the FBI.
