Mississippi Sovereignty Commission maintained a folder on Phillip Sanders Lapsansky. According to their records, Lapsansky was born March 30, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. He was a member of the Socialist Workers Party in Seattle and the chair of the Young Socialist Alliance there before coming to Mississippi during the 1964 Freedom Summer. He stayed in Mississippi for the next two years.
