Flowers, Richmond, 1918-2007

Biography:

Alabama attorney general in the early 1960s who drew national attention when he challenged the segregationist policies of Gov. George C. Wallace and prosecuted Ku Klux Klansmen in the killings of civil rights workers. He later served a prison term for bribery.
