Castle, Doris Jean, d. 1997
CORE activist and eighteen-year old New Orleans native Castle rode a Greyhound bus from Montgomery, Alabama to Jackson, Mississippi as part of a May 24, 1961 Freedom Ride. She was arrested the following day in Jackson for her involvement.
