Berry, Mary Frances

Biography:

African American professor, writer, lawyer, and activist. She served as assistant secretary in the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare during the Carter Administration, led the civil rights commission under President Bill Clinton, and was an outspoken advocate of the Equal Rights Amendment.
