Adams-Johnson, Frankye

Biography:

Civil rights worker born in Pocahantas, Mississippi who participated in the NAACP, COFO, and SNCC as a youth organizer while growing up in Jackson, Mississippi. She moved to New York state in 1967, where she co-organized a branch of the Black Panther Party in White Plains. Adams-Johnson became a college professor in the 1980s, and returned to Jackson from New York in the late 1990s.
