<dc_description>Web site companion to the PBS series &quot;Eyes on the Prize.&quot; The site explores 25 major events of the Civil Rights movement, as told in the 14 hours of the Eyes on the Prize television series. Series topics range from the Montgomery bus boycott in 1954 to the Voting Rights Act in 1965; from community power in schools to &quot;Black Power&quot; in the streets; from early acts of individual courage through to the flowering of a mass movement and its eventual split into factions. It also contains information about the series, links to video and audio files, primary sources, profiles of individuals in the series, reflections of the Civil Rights movement, and a section for teachers.</dc_description>
<dc_description>The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.</dc_description>
