<dc_description>Inspired by the leftist political traditions of her native Bolivia and by her mother's political activism, Katushka Olave brought her devotion to social and racial justice to Durham, North Carolina. There she worked to promote these values through volunteering and work in community organizations. In this interview, she shares her opinions on social activism, aid organizations, and Latino cultural identity. Olave offers insight into race, identity, and activism, including her effort to bridge the gap between the African-American and Latino communities in Durham.</dc_description>
