<dc_description>Typed letter, dated December 17, 1957, addressed to NAACP Executive Secretary Roy Wilkins from Daisy Bates. Bates reports that the nine African American students who enrolled in Little Rock Central High School, collectively known as the "Little Rock Nine," were suffering harassment and abuse from white students at the school. Bates discusses setting up a fund for bond money for the students, as Bates had information that the students were possibly going to be arrested for their actions.</dc_description>
