The Project utilizes selected original records, photographs and other materials from the collections of the State Library and Archives of Florida. Civil rights materials available through the Florida Memory Web site include photographs of civil rights demonstrations, audio and video clips, and copies of reports and speeches by state officials. Topics include direct actions, Governor Askew's support of busing for integration, school integration, civil rights leader C. K. Steele, and the race riots in Saint Augustine. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
