From the Randall (Herbert) Freedom Summer Photographs. After a caucus of the 5th Congressional District of a unit of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) at St. John United Methodist Church at Palmers Crossing in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, during Freedom Summer, 1964, local people and volunteers talk together in the church's parking lot. Sitting on the rail of the church steps is volunteer William D. Jones, who later changed his name to Umoja Kwanguvu. The child in front of Jones is Tilton Sullivan.
