SNCC Field Secretary Sandy Leigh, Director of the COFO-Hattiesburg Project, lectures on the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) to Freedom School students and their teachers at True Light Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, during Freedom Summer, 1964. Peter Werner, Freedom School teacher, sits in the center of the fourth pew back from the front of the room, wearing a white shirt. Freedom School teacher Nancy Ellin sits in the middle of the seventh pew back from the front, wearing a white shirt.
