From the Randall (Herbert) Freedom Summer Photographs. Carolyn Reese teaching a Freedom School class at an African-American church in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, during Freedom Summer 1964. The students include Aljorie, Sharon, and Velisa Clark and two sons of the McFarland family. Jackie McFarland is at the far right. Reese and her husband, Arthur, served as co-coordinators of the COFO-Hattiesburg Freedom Schools.
