From the Randall (Herbert) Freedom Summer Photographs. Three young female Freedom Summer volunteers arrive a few doors down from the COFO Headquarters at 507 Mobile Street in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the end of June, 1964. One of the three may be Mary McGroarty. The volunteers drove in groups from the sites of the SNCC Orientation Sessions in Oxford, Ohio, and Memphis, Tennessee, keeping to the main highways for safety.
