From the Randall (Herbert) Freedom Summer Photographs. A male Freedom Summer volunteer pointing to a bullet hole in the front of a white car parked in front of J. C. Fairley's Radio & TV Service shop (522 Mobile Street, Hattiesburg, Mississippi). Fairley was a local civil rights leader whose shop was located across the street from the Hattiesburg COFO Headquarters. This photograph was likely taken in late June 1964, as Freedom Summer volunteers were arriving in Hattiesburg.
