From the Miller (Michael J.) Civil Rights Collection; This publication of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) explains what the Freedom Vote is and why it is necessary in Mississippi. It discusses many ways that African Americans have been not allowed to vote in Mississippi. It gives a history of the MFDP and explains why the party was organized. This "Freedom Primer" uses simple language and illustrations to encourage Mississippians to vote in the Freedom Vote.
