From the Miller (Michael J.) Civil Rights Collection; This document relates the history of the election contest statute (Title 2 U. S. C. Section 201) and sets forth the main objections of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party to the 1964 Congressional elections in Mississippi. It also compares instances of voter intimidation and illegal voter registration practices in Mississippi in 1964 with similar instances in which the statute has been invoked. This draft of the document has handwritten proofreader's marks added to the text.
