From the Johnston (Erle E., Jr.) Papers; Signed statement made by James E. Jordan to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), dated November 9, 1964. Jordan discusses details of the plot to kill three civil rights workers (James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner) upon their release from jail in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Included are the names of Ku Klux Klan members who participated in the plot, the overall plan, and Jordan's account of the actual incident. Also includes a description of the disposal and condition of the victims' bodies.
