Photograph of Thomas L. Griffith, Jr. An attorney and civil rights activist, Griffith was president of the Los Angeles branch of the NAACP from 1935-1950. He was later appointed a judge of the Los Angeles Municipal Court.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
