Description:

Sepia-toned photograph of Lillian, dated Feb. 10, 1925. Lillian wears a cloche hat and pearls and red lipstick. The photograph was presented to Charlotta Bass, with the handwritten message: "To the sweetest mother on earth, from your daughter, Lillian." Although Bass and her husband did not have any children, young people she knew sent her letters and photographs in which they addressed her as "Mother."
