Photograph of Lily Golden at her school in Moscow. Golden is standing and looking at two older women, who appear to be teachers. Three students are seated at school desks in the background. Lily's father, John Golden, moved from the United States to the U.S.S.R. in 1931 to avoid racial persecution. Lily was born and raised in the U.S.S.R. She attended the Secondary Music School, an affiliate of the Conservatory of Moscow, where she learned to play the piano.
