Greeting card showing the three Slaton children, with each child holding a sign to spell out the greeting "Happy New Year." The children are, from left, Shelley, Baxter and Glenn Curtis Slaton; their parents are William and Nellie-Becker Slaton. Becker-Slaton was a staff writer at the California Eagle in the 1940s. The Slatons sent this card to Charlotta Bass, publisher of the California Eagle. In addition to the photograph, the card contains a typewritten message: "And may your most cherished dreams come true."
