Photograph of John Kinloch playing stickball on a New York City street. John, the son of Victorine and Alexander Kinloch, was raised in New York City. He moved to Los Angeles when he was 14 and lived with his aunt, Charlotta Bass, publisher of the California Eagle. Kinloch eventually became the newspaper's managing editor. This photo was pasted inside Bass' scrapbook.
