Dinner guests include Monsignor Thomas O'Dwyer, seated in the left row, third from the back, and Ben Margolis, seated at the end of the right row, partially hidden behind a woman's hat. O'Dwyer advocated for better housing for the poor. Margolis was a prominent civil rights attorney whose clients included the defendants in the Sleepy Lagoon murder trial and the Hollywood Ten.
