Pamphlet published in May 1963 by the American Friends Service Committee, reprinting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s response to a letter by white ministers objecting to Civil Rights demonstrations in Birmingham, Alabama, in the spring of 1963. Dr. King was imprisoned for eight days for his participation in Birmingham demonstrations. Eight white ministers issued a public statement questioning the timing and method of Civil Rights demonstrations. This copy belonged to Roberta Church.
