Newsletter excerpt from the Hardeman County, Tennessee, school district newsletter, dated August 31, 1949. The newsletter provides the calendar for the "white" and "Negro" schools in the county and indicates there will be a four week break during harvest for the white students, and a five week break for the African American students. Allen-White High School in Hardeman County was the county's African American school.
