Two page typewritten report prepared by I. DeQuincey Newman, field secretary for the South Carolina National Association for the Advancement of Colored People that chronicles the picketing of S. H. Kress and F. W. Woolworth department stores in the South Carolina cities of Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Orangeburg, and Spartanburg. The report notes that there were no difficulties in Florence and Orangeburg, but that there was a violent attack made against a NAACP youth leader in Spartanburg.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
